๐ญ Create a Vote Incentives Manager (VIM)
You are planning on creating a recurrent VIM, or you want to give it a decentralized dimension ?
You should check out Vote Incentives Manager.
How ?
Open the VIM website (opens in a new tab)
If you never deployed a VIM, you should see this page. Click on Create a Bounty Manager (opens in a new tab).
Create the VIM
This is similar to creating a Vote Incentive on Votemarket.
This is a step by step form to build your vote incentive.
Protocol
Select the protocol you want to incentivize vote on.
For exemple, if you want to attract veCRV votes on a Curve gauge, you should select Curve.
Gauge
Select the gauge you want veCRV holders to vote for.
You can use the searchbar to find your gauge, either with the gauge name or the gauge address.
Token
Select the reward token you want to incentivize voters with. You can use the searchbar to find your token, either with the token name or the token address.
Number of weeks
Select the number of weeks your vote incentive will last.
Reward amount and max price per vote
You can input the TOTAL amount of rewards, that will be equally split amongst the number of periods you have selected before.
For exemple, if you add 10 000 tokens for 4 periods, it will split to 2500 tokens per period.
You can also input the max price per vote.
This is the maximum amount of token you are willing to pay for a vote. This field is prefilled to match the emission amount in $ redirected for a vote, but you can change it as you want. If you don't attract enough vote for all the reward on a period, the amount left will be withdrawable at the end of the periods.
Blacklist
You can add a blacklist to your vote incentive. The blacklisted addresses will not be able to claim rewards even if they voted for the gauge you selected.
NB : You can't select if the vote incentive is upgradable, because the purpose of a Vote Incentive Manager is to update ubgradable bounties. Every bounty created here are upgradable.
Create your Vote Incentives Manager
Once every field filled, you have a recap of your vote incentive that should look like this :
It shows you everything you have filled :
- Protocol, for vote incentive target.
- Gauge, with name and address (here sdCRV/CRV).
- Manager's Manager address (should be yours).
- Reward token, with name and address.
- Target periods.
- Max rewards per vote, token amount and corresponding $ value.
- Total rewards.
- Rewards per period, based on the total rewards and number of periods.
- Blacklist, here all liquid lockers are blacklisted.
- Upgradability
Once you've checked everything, approve your tokens and create your vote incentive manager !
It will deploy your Vote Incentives Manager, aswell as create the Vote Incentive on Votemarket.
Manage VIM
The VIM homepage (opens in a new tab) now displays your VIM (syncing can take few minutes).
You can see the data of the vote incentive associated to your VIM.
For more data or for managing the VIM, you can click on the Manage
button.
Your VIM stores the parameters that you filled at its creation.
The VIM Manager's can change as he wants the target periods or max price per vote.
Anyone can add rewards to the vote incentive by transfering the token reward to the VIM.
Once the rewards are added on the VIM, anyone can call the update. The update will push the parameters set by the VIM's manager to the vote incentive platform, and send the entire balance of reward token to add rewards. For exemple, if the manager has set target duration to 6 weeks, and the remaining periods of the vote incentive is 4 weeks, calling the update will add 2 weeks to the bounty.
Decentralization use case
Stake DAO uses VIM to optimize Liquid Lockers liquidity.
veSDT holders can chose tu allocate some SDT inflation from lockers to VBMs, which are associated to a vote incentive on the liquidity pool's gauge.
Target duration and max price per vote are set, but anyone can with this inflation voted by veSDT holders, push the new rewards to the vote incentive on the vote platform.
